I suppose this film was made in order to shock, something like Lady Gaga in the music industry ;)

In another post, I mentioned a track from Lost in Translation, now its time to mention the movie itself!

Well, it immediately made it to my top 5 movies. Bill Murray is top notch as well as Scarlett Johansson, might it comes as a surprise to some of yous but she actually acts pretty well in this one. It is about common souls, friendship and being alone in a world that seems to be totally alienating. I maybe take it too far but I think this movie is one in a million. What an amazing work, 92 mins of pure cinematic gold.

Sofia Coppola, director and writer of the movie, has coming from a good school- she is the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, I don't think I have to introduce him:)

There are times when I actually believe that American cinema can still produce "living" classics and not all hope is lost there. It has been made out of 4m dollars only which means that a good idea, passion and commitment can create amazing movies. This is definitely one movie that you have to see before you die, does'nt matter where you're from or how old you are.

And the greatest thing is, it will leave you thinking at the end although its not an open ending. If you've seen the movie then here is the biggest question for you; What Bob said to Charlotte at the very end of the movie? There are plenty people trying to guess the actual thing but you cannot hear it and its basically up to the viewer. What a great idea! I just checked on Youtube and there is a few vids trying to figure it out but all of them have different opinions. Art!

Yesterday, I watched a wonderful movie on cable TV, called "Departures".
I recommend this one to all that love japanese cinema, or a good and different story.

    The plot of the film:
"When his orchestra disbands, Daigo Kobayashi (Masahiro Motoki) decides to start over and moves back to his small hometown. Desperate for work, he secretly takes a job as a Nokanshi, a funeral professional who prepares the deceased for burial and entrance into the next life. But while working with the families of the departed, Daigo embarks on a spiritual journey of his own as he finally experiences the joy and wonder of living".

It's really hard to describe this movie. Its SO beautiful and delicate... a little masterpiece of real poetry in motion. Although it deals with a non pleasant subject for the great majority of persons, death, the movie director's approach doesn't treat this like some scary matter, but as a natural fact of our lives, and in a very sensitive way.
It's a dramatic movie, with nice touches of humor, and it's impossible not to cry while watching it. But don't worry, your tears will be of beauty, not of sorrow.
Here's the link to the official trailler [although it doesn't show the real essence of the movie]

I do hope you'll enjoy it.

You're welcome. I really loved this film, and I felt that would be nice to share this with you

    'Moon' is a good movie

Indeed. It's so... unique in a strange way. I think that what makes someone like it, is the fact that we watch this movie expecting nothing at all hahahaha. But the story is very interesting and parts from a pile of clichés into something really intriguing that makes us think about it

[how to comment about a movie without spoiling it hahahaha]
