    Does somebody nwow if Ivo is still involved in music ?

    He brouhgt so many fresh new bands and new ideas to our ears.

    Brendan, are you still in conctact with him ? Do you know if he has some musical project in the air ?

    he's making music under the name "the hope blister"... but I did not hear it yet.

    Hello,

    Smiles'OK from The Hope Blister was released in 1998. It is considered as the fourth Lp from This Mortal Coil with covers of Cranes, David Sylvian, John Cale, Gus Gus and others songs.

    A few years later Ivo left 4AD then ... no news ...

    Simply the man who let Brendan and Lisa fantastic (and maybe a little arrogant at that time ;o)) new visions of music come to our ears ...

    But mainly he's enjoying retired life, still very much interested in new and old music.

    I hope he decides to get back into the biz again though as I'm sure he's got lots of ideas swirling around in his head.

    Did I miss that part? The only mention I really saw of DCD was when they signed in 1984, and their involvement with This Mortal Coil. What page was this other info on? Thanks

    What were your impressions of Lisa Gerrard’s debut solo album? What do you make of Gerrard’s prolific solo work, including many film soundtrack when compared to the slower, more relaxed pace of Brendan Perry?

    I adore The Mirror Pool. It's my favourite of her solo work. It, now seems, inevitable that THAT voice would attract people from the movie business. It gets a bit annoying, these days, when anything (movie, commercial, documentary) with a slight Middle Eastern slant now includes a Lisa Gerrard clone, don't you agree? Brendan has always been a perfectionist.

    What was it like to, on the eve of officially selling 4AD, to finally get to release Brendan Perry’s debut solo album? For a talent like Perry, it’s worth a decade’s wait between albums, isn’t it?

    For those that had been aware of different versions of a lot of these songs, from live performances or demos, it was a surprise to hear these versions. The live band that Brendan put together performed them quite differently as well. I love the man, his voice, that record, everything and would gladly pay for work in progress recordings. As I mentioned before, he is a perfectionist and will only release what he is completely happy with. Who are we to argue?
